About
We are Ana & Jaime, a two-photographer team based in Asturias, on Spain's wild green north coast. We photograph destination weddings and elopements throughout Spain — from sea cliffs and fishing villages to mountain palacios — with an editorial eye and a documentary heart. No stiff posing, no interruptions. Two perspectives on every real moment, in light we know by heart.
Cornerstone
Lumen Atelier is the two of us — Ana and Jaime — and we photograph every wedding together. Not a studio that sends whoever’s available. Not a lead with a rotating assistant. Us. Both. Always.
Jaime — Has spent 17 years photographing people who forgot he was there. His pictures are patient: he’d rather wait for the real laugh than ask for a fake one. He believes the best wedding photographs are the ones nobody remembers being taken — and that the light in Asturias is a collaborator, not a backdrop.
Ana — Photographs in four languages — Spanish, English, French and German. That sounds like a joke, but it isn’t: when she understands the best man’s speech, she knows the punchline is coming, and she’s already framing your face. Anticipation is the difference between documenting a moment and catching it.

Two of us, always. While one of us photographs your vows, the other is watching your mother’s face. Nothing happens only once at a wedding — except everything.

We understand the speeches before the laughter lands and before the tears come, and every call, contract and timeline can happen in the language you think in.

Why Asturias
A destination wedding in Asturias: everything you need to know. Asturias is home — where we're based, the coast we know by heart — so while we photograph weddings all over Spain, it's the one place we can tell you everything about. Most couples discover Asturias by accident — a holiday, a friend's tip, a photo of green cliffs above a turquoise sea that didn't look like Spain at all. Then they can't let it go. This is everything we tell our couples, free to use whether you book us or not.
Why Asturias. They call this coast España Verde — Green Spain. No mass tourism, no rows of resorts. Instead: fishing villages, eucalyptus forests running down to empty beaches, stone palacios in the mountains, and food that makes guests rebook their flights. If your people are coming from London, Paris or Munich, you’re giving them a Spain they didn’t know existed.
When to marry here — seasons & light.
May–June: green at its loudest, soft light, long evenings. Our favourite.
July–August: warmest and driest, golden evenings until 10 pm. Book venues early.
September–October: quiet roads, dramatic skies, the first Atlantic storms — extraordinary for photographs.
November–April: for the brave and the romantic. Moody, intimate, surprisingly beautiful.
One honest thing: this is the green part of Spain because it rains. We plan every wedding with the light — and a plan B — in mind. Some of our favourite images exist because of a storm, not despite it.
Getting here. Asturias Airport (OVD) connects through Madrid and Barcelona, with seasonal direct flights from London and other European cities. Bilbao (2.5 h) and Santander (1.5 h) widen the options. We share a travel sheet with every couple so your guests book the right route the first time.

The legal part (the honest version). Civil marriage in Spain involves paperwork that’s slow for non-residents. That’s why most international couples sign the legal documents at home and celebrate the full ceremony here, led by a celebrant — your guests will never know the difference. We’ll connect you with planners and celebrants who handle this beautifully, in your language.
Planning from abroad. You don’t need to speak Spanish to marry in Asturias. Between us, your planner and your venue, everything — calls, contracts, timelines — can happen in English, French or German. We’ve helped couples plan from London, Lyon, Zurich and Hamburg without a single lost-in-translation moment.

What you take
Collections and album
What you receive. Every wedding includes both of us, from preparations to party, and a private online gallery of hand-edited images — yours to download, print and share. Beyond the day, we cover welcome dinners and day-afters, and pre-wedding sessions on a cliff or in the city you met. And then the album: a linen-bound, fine-art heirloom, sequenced like a story and made to outlive the hard drive. The photographs are the memory; the album is where it lives.
Three collections. From there, you choose how much of the story we keep.
The Escape — Elopements & micro weddings. For up to 20 guests. Up to 5 hours with both of us, location scouting & light plan, and help with timings and logistics.
The Day — Full coverage of your wedding day, from the first button to the last song. Both photographers, a private online gallery, and a print release that’s yours forever.
The Weekend —For celebrations that don't fit in a single day. Everything in The Day, plus your welcome dinner or rehearsal, and a day-after session in the landscape that brought you here.

Some of the best days we’ve photographed had no guest list at all — just two people, a cliff, and a celebrant the wind nearly carried off.
